going for it.

So maybe I've seriously dabbled in swimming since I was 7 or 8 years old. And okay, maybe I've always just needed a reason to push myself a little harder when I'm running. And perhaps, maybe, it's time I put my sweet ass bike that I got as a graduation present in 2004 to good use.

(And obviously I need more excuses to buy cute workout apparel. But really, that's not the point. Although it is so true.)

Maybe there's a reason why I've always left things until the last minute. My old tendency to bust out 20 page research papers the night before they'd be due. Printing up random stats on clients minutes before a staff meeting. Buying baby shower gifts an hour before the par-tay. Because leaving it to the last minute is pretty much how I roll.

Perhaps this can just go to show that for the next month, it's game on. It's not heaps of time, but that's never really stopped me before.

So, here goes nothing. July 15, Triathloning here I come.
Woot!

And PS- Now I will be held accountable. Because I've confessed to all of you on this here blog. And, wicked importantly, and so deserving of many many heaps of thanks- Egan, my Triathlon guru/mentor, THANK YOU for the encouragement and the push I needed.

You are so going to rock that mother! I have much admiration for people who do these types of things for I will probably never be able to - even if I lose all the weight I'm wanting to lose. Running hurts (even when I was thin I hated it) and I never got into competition swimming even though I've been swimming since I was 5 and I'm still a little afraid of my bike.

I see that there is a commonality between bloggers - the whole leaving things to the last minute stuff. Weird.

And Egan is wicked persuasive, isn't he? But definitely in a good way.

That egan. Not only does he leave nice comments, he pushes people to do triathalons. Is there anything he can't do? As for you my dear, good luck, you are going to be absolutely bloody brilliant and I can't wait to hear all the good stories that come from this!

Awesome, by posting this you will keep yourself accountable. You're going to do great as most triathletes aren't the best swimmers. You've got plenty of time to train considering it's your first one. Sit back and enjoy it and strike up a conversation or two.

Arm, I can hear you. Brandy you're very kind.
